| Esta pesquisa foi realizada com o objetivo de avaliar os aspectos produtivos e econômicos de poedeiras comerciais (Gallus gallus) submetidas a diferentes densidades de alojamento. Foram alojadas 264 poedeiras em gaiolas com dimensões de 100 cm × 50 cm × 40 cm em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro grupos distribuídos em esquema fatorial 4 × 4, com 8, 10, 12 e 14 aves por gaiola, correspondendo a 625, 500, 416,6 e 357,14 cm²/ave. As características avaliadas foram: produção de ovos, peso médio dos ovos, consumo de ração, massa dos ovos, conversão alimentar por dúzia e ovos imprestáveis para consumo humano. | O presente estudo tem por objetivo caracterizar a organização dos ovócitos e os estádios maturacionais do ovário da pescada Plagioscion squamosissimus. As coletas foram realizadas bimestralmente no reservatório de Pedra, rio de Contas (BA), entre novembro de 2004 e setembro de 2006. As análises microscópicas foram realizadas através de cortes histológicos, corados com hematoxilina - eosina - floxina e mistura tricrômica de Gomori. Através da análise macro e microscópica, foram identificados cinco estádios maturacionais. A coloração das gônadas variou de acordo com o desenvolvimento gonadal. | ABSTRACT: Swainsonine-containing plants comprise a group of important poisonous plants in Brazil. This research aimed to characterize both the behavioral changes related to reproduction and appearance of lesions in the reproductive system of bucks poisoned by Ipomoea brasiliana. I. brasiliana plants were collected and administered at a dose of 4g/kg (800µg swainsonine/kg) to two groups of bucks for 45 days. Goats from Group I were euthanized on the 46th day of the experiment, and goats from Group II were euthanized on the 120th day. | This work aims to study the female reproductive tract of silky sharks, Carcharhinus falciformis, captured in the South and Equatorial Atlantic Ocean. Samples were collected between January 2008 and March 2010 through oceanic commercial vessels that targeted tuna and swordfish, with a total of 17 females collected. The methodologies followed for analyzing the ovaries of those females included both macroscopic and histological analysis. Macroscopically, it was possible to determine that the ovaries on these sharks is suspended by mesenteries in the anterior section of the body cavity, heavily irrigated by blood vessels, and contains a wide range of oocytes. | Some studies have shown that pinealectomized female rats present a large concentration of collagen fibers in the endometrium. The lack of light results in morphologic alterations in the uterine lamina propria and in the muscular layer, reducing thus the uterine weight.
